About Amir Desai

Amir Desai has worked in the health care industry for more than 10 years, serving a variety of companies in diverse roles, ranging from a Consultant and Business Analyst to his current position as a Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (ACS), a subsidiary of Xerox Corporation. Mr. Desai has developed strategies with direct positive impact for company shareholders, creating delivery systems that integrate offshore vendors and outsourced infrastructure firms.

The majority of Amir Desai’s work in recent years has taken place in California. Operating from Rancho Palos Verdes, he joined ACS in 2010, after spending four years with Molina Healthcare, Inc., in Long Beach, and another year with PacifiCare Health Systems/UnitedHealth Group, Inc. in Cypress. Mr. Desai also worked in the Payer Technology Practice for BearingPoint GmbH in Los Angeles for two years. Prior to this, he brought his skills to MedUnite, Inc., in San Diego for two years.

The roles Amir Desai has filled over the years cross a range of responsibilities and job types. Some of his early work included positions as an Analyst, a Technical Manager, and an information technology (IT) Project Manager. More recently, Mr. Desai has served as Director of Information Technology for PacifiCare/UnitedHealth, charged with overseeing claims platforms and medical management applications, and Chief Information Officer for Molina Healthcare, for which he reorganized the enterprise IT organization.

At ACS, Mr. Desai holds responsibility for technology systems related to the company’s Medicaid government business unit and a portfolio of solutions that covers important Medicaid programs including Aged, Blind, or Disabled (ABD), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Long-Term Care (LTC).
